In terms of construction, Atomic relies on toe and heel pieces made of aluminium and fiberglass-reinforced PA plastic: this keeps the weight low for the climb while delivering the stability you need on the way down. The AutoFlex System works with a spring in the heel mechanism that automatically provides 5 mm of travel between toe and heel during the arc of a turn – the ski can flex naturally, impacts are absorbed and safety increases noticeably. When stepping in, the patented Step-in Aid guides your boot precisely into position, and the climbing aid switches between 0°, 7° and 13° with a simple flick of your ski pole. The touring brakes with lock system change from hike to ski mode in no time.
