The Atomic Backland Summit 5 BR is the ideal pin touring binding for kids and teenagers taking their first steps in ski touring. It packs the complete technology of the adult Backland Summit models into a lighter, even easier-to-use package – and with its release value range from 2 to 5 it is precisely tuned to young and lightweight ski tourers.
The patented Step-in Aid with integrated toe bar automatically guides the boot into the correct position when clicking in – so stepping in works right away, even with little practice. The AutoFlex System uses a spring in the heel mechanism that provides 5 mm of travel between toe and heel during the arc of a turn: the ski keeps its natural flex while the binding absorbs impacts and increases safety. For the climb, you can conveniently switch the climbing aid from 0° to 7° with your ski pole, and the touring brakes change quickly between hike and ski mode thanks to their lock system. Toe and heel pieces made of aluminium and fiberglass-reinforced PA keep the weight low while still taking plenty of abuse.
