The Petzl Summit Evo Ice Axe is a lightweight, technical ice axe for classic mountaineering, giving you precise placement and reliable support on glaciers, snow slopes and steeper alpine terrain. The hydroformed shaft is curved in the upper section to give you clearance over the slope, while the straight lower section bites cleanly into the snow and provides a solid anchor when walking or building belays.

The hot-forged steel head with its tapered, toothed pick penetrates hard snow and ice efficiently, while the broader mid-section of the pick holds securely in softer snow and the stainless-steel spike works perfectly when using the axe as a walking stick. A robust, shaped adze offers a comfortable hand rest and makes step cutting easier, and openings in head and spike let you clip a carabiner or attach an optional LINKIN leash – ideal if you want to carry as little weight as possible but still feel plenty of security in your hand on serious alpine routes.
