The Rode Stick Green is a classic kick wax from the hard wax range of the Italian wax manufacturer Rode. The green hard wax, called P20 by the manufacturer, is labelled for -4 °C to -10 °C and is therefore the wax for cold, dry days. For the much colder northern European snow Rode states a range down to -15 °C. The wax is fluor-free and can therefore be used where fluorinated waxes are not permitted.
Apply it in thin layers and cork them smooth – that gives you the best kick on cold snow. With a pronounced kick zone, put a blue wax or a binder underneath first and finish with the green on top. It works from fresh snow through to older, transformed snow, which makes it a reliable workhorse for the winter.
