Salewa Ortles Med 3 Rds Down Jacket - Whether as an insulating middle layer or as a third layer: The latest version of the Ortles Medium down jacket is one of the warmest insulation jackets and was designed for alpine activities in icy temperatures. The jacket combines high thermal performance with a minimal pack size. A 90:10 duck down and TirolWool Hybrid Responsive insulation is used in the filling. The two insulating materials are placed in such a way that different parts of the body can be supplied with exactly the right heat retention. The TirolWool Responsive material also keeps you warm when it's wet - which is why it is used on the hood, shoulders and cuffs.
The light nylon ripstop outer material protects against abrasion and is therefore ideal suitable for alpine activities. The fitted, rear-adjustable hood and the high collar offer protection when it gets stormy and uncomfortable. The ergonomic fit of the sleeves and shoulders allows a high degree of freedom of movement and prevents the jacket from riding up when moving overhead. The two-way front zip is also practical, allowing easy access to the climbing harness and belay device. And when the temperature – or the intensity – rises, the jacket can be quickly stowed away in its own pocket. The Ortles Medium 3 down jacket comes in a medium thickness and combines low weight and minimal pack size.
