Salewa Ortles Master Cord 6mm Precut - The new Ortles Master cord sets new standards in alpine climbing and technical mountaineering: It combines a high breaking strength of over 15 kilonewtons (Kn) with high UV resistance and low weight.
The hybrid construction combines robust polyamide in the jacket with a core made of polyethylene, which has a high molecular weight (UHMW). The material - also known as high-strength PE for convenience - is lighter and at the same time stronger than steel and Kevlar. This combination ensures exceptional strength yet excellent knotability.
The pre-cut 6 millimeter cord comes with sealed, rounded ends and can be used in a variety of ways: as a prusik sling, for building stands, for rappelling as well as for threading hourglasses or Setting up a pulley system.
The special Salewa color coding, which is also used in the Ortles Dyneema band sling, ensures easy handling: thanks to the uniform color system in green, blue, red and gray, the lengths are immediately recognized and correctly selected when climbing.
