Salewa Alpine-Tec Hammer - The Salewa Alpine-Tec Hammer is a lightweight hybrid ice ax for use in mountaineering on steep slopes, including on more technical routes. It's ideal for snowy gorges and steeps.
It's slightly more curved and shorter than our Alpine-X ice ax and has a sharp, aggressive 3mm steel blade. The minimalist palm rest can be adjusted without tools. The ergonomically shaped pick head sits comfortably in the hand and is particularly comfortable when ascending and descending when the pick serves as a support.
Its strong, aggressive steel blade is ideal for use on steep alpine ice slopes or glacier walls. A sharpened, replaceable hard metal pick tip at the end of the shaft ensures good grip when crossing old snow or ice.
