The Alpina Arber 2 Mips is a ski helmet for adults who want to feel fully protected on the slopes. As a unisex model it goes with you on relaxed carving days just as much as on fast descents and first outings into easy off-piste terrain. Alpina has stood for head protection in winter sports for decades – and the Arber 2 continues that line with a clean, technical design you simply stop noticing once you are on the mountain.
The Mips in the name stands for the Multi-directional Impact Protection System. A low-friction layer sits between the padding and the helmet shell and can move roughly 10 to 15 millimetres in every direction on impact. That sliding movement absorbs part of the rotational energy generated by angled falls and complements the helmet's conventional impact damping. The Arber 2 Mips is certified to the European ski helmet standard EN 1077 and can be fine-tuned to your head circumference with the adjustment system at the back. Vents release built-up heat, the removable liner cushions softly, and the helmet edge is shaped to work with a pair of ski goggles.
