It has an all-round protective rubber edge, 3-zone lacing with efficient D-ring locking and the patented Base Fit 2.1. This is located on the outside of the heel area and slides easily around the heel bone using a Mammut Hammer cord above and below, which noticeably improves the heel hold and reduces the formation of blisters.

The hold is additionally supported by the 3D-shaped heel padding . The interior is dry and warm thanks to the memo foam, the elastic GORE-TEX tongue construction, GORE-TEX Duratherm Comfort Footwear membrane and the well-closing integrated half gaiter.
