DMM Wallnut Set 3-8 - assorted - Despite their simple appearance, the DMM Wallnuts are top-class climbing accessories. A different alloy is used for each size. Smaller wallnuts are made of a harder alloy to prevent shearing, while larger sizes are softer to allow them to engage placements. Larger Wallnuts have a hollow construction to reduce weight.
Wallnuts can be placed in two different orientations, allowing a single nut to cover a range of cracks. They taper on both the face and sides, helping them sit better in crevices that rarely run parallel. Grooved surfaces reduce weight, improve nut seating in cracks, improve security in shallow placements, and prevent lift-out when a hooklink moves past them.
Wallnuts are installed on wires stiff enough to to allow for overhead placements while being flexible enough to reduce the likelihood of lifting out. They are color coded to match the rest of our protection program and allow for quick and easy selection of the correct size from your harness. Wallnuts are the basis to build a comprehensive climbing frame. Complemented by other, more specific protections, they are guaranteed to be the most used protections on your harness.
