The Atomic Backland 101 Women 26/27 is the touring ski for women who love the climb as much as the descent in open terrain. With its waist width in the 100 mm class, it is aimed at advanced and expert ski tourers who bring a freeride mindset to every tour: explore, climb and descend with commanding confidence. Whether short turns in tight terrain or long arcs across wide powder fields, this ski gives you control and playfulness in every situation.
The Backland 101 W shares its construction with the wider Backland 108 W: the FreeTour Profile uses more wood and less fiberglass, metal and resin, creating a harmonious flex with powerful downhill performance while reducing material-based CO2 equivalent emissions by 26% (compared with the Backland 100, 2022). The Ultra Light Woodcore made of poplar and caruba combines low weight with optimum stability, while the three-dimensional HRZN 3D tip increases surface area for noticeably better float in deeper snow. Powder Rocker with prominent tip and tail rocker and camber underfoot delivers effortless, playful handling in deep powder, crud and chop. The ski was developed with input from athletes like Amie Engerbretson.
