Swix TSP5 Turquoise 40g is a race powder from the Pro by Swix TS series for the range -8 °C to -15 °C. It is the hardest powder in the TSP line and therefore the choice for cold, dry days - in cross-country as well as in alpine skiing. Swix makes its ski waxes without fluorine, and that applies to this powder too.
The powder format keeps application straightforward and gives an even result on fresh, old and man-made snow. Swix recommends an iron temperature of 160 °C; a single pass should take roughly 8 to 10 seconds on a skating ski, and a good iron melts the powder evenly as you go. Let the ski cool for at least ten minutes until it reaches room temperature, then brush with a bronze or steel brush in five to ten strokes from tip to tail and finish with a nylon polishing brush. You can run TSP5 on its own as a race powder or use it as a base beneath a top coat. The 40 gram tin covers roughly four to five pairs of cross-country skis.
