The Rex Fluor Powder 83 is a fluor race powder from the Rex Racing Service Line for old, mixed and artificial snow. Its range is -2°C to -12°C. In the Lahti 2017 powder tests it was even faster than the Rex 77. The powder contains graphite and is C6-based and PFOA-free.
You apply the powder as the final layer over a suitable glide wax: set the iron to approx. 180°C, melt the powder in with several quick passes until it looks dark, brush it in with a nylon brush, melt again briefly, let it cool, scrape lightly and brush thoroughly. This gives you a smooth, water- and dirt-repellent surface that stays fast even on dirty old snow and man-made snow. Please note: fluorinated waxes must not be used at FIS and IBU races.
