The Atomic Backland 102 26/27 is built for freeride ski tourers chasing big mountain adventure: long climbs, untracked slopes and descents with serious drive. With a 102 mm waist it delivers plenty of float in powder while its smart lightweight design keeps it efficient on the skin track. It was developed together with Austrian backcountry legend Matthias Haunholder – a ski that takes you deeper into the mountains.
The Backland 102 shares its construction with the wider Backland 109: the FreeTour Profile combines touring efficiency with real downhill power. The Ultra Light Woodcore made of poplar and caruba strikes the ideal balance of low weight and performance, while the three-dimensional HRZN 3D tip increases surface area for better float in deep snow. Powder Rocker with a pronounced tip and tail rocker and camber underfoot makes the ski playful and maneuverable in powder, crud and chop. By using more wood and less fiberglass, metal and resin, material-based CO2 equivalent emissions are reduced by 26% (compared with the Backland 100, 2022).
