The Blacklight 88 weighs just 1,080 g (165 cm) with a waist width of 88 mm, making it Dynafit's lightest all-round ski. The model was developed for ambitious, fast ski tourers who are looking for a light, handy companion for technically demanding terrain that is impressive in all snow conditions. The name Blacklight is made up of the color "Black", which stands for the carbon used, and the addition "Light" for a very light ski with luminous color character. Blacklight isn't just a product name, it's a promise. The ski is technically perfectly coordinated, elegant in design and focuses on the essentials: speed.
The Blacklight 88 has a 100% UD carbon upper belt. UD is the abbreviation for unidirectional and refers to the arrangement of the carbon fibers. Compared to classic carbon, this construction has a higher tensile strength and higher resilience, while at the same time having a lower volumetric weight. The Blacklight 88 is equipped with a wood core made from 100% high quality Paulownia. Thanks to the 3D construction, the flywheel mass is reduced in front of and behind the binding area, thus reducing the overall weight of the ski. This gives you extremely stable driving characteristics despite the light weight.
The rocker construction on the tip and tail and the sidecut are adapted to the respective ski length - this is unique in the ski touring market. The effective edge length remains proportionally the same for all lengths and works independently of the ski length. In order to guarantee you the best possible power transmission to the ski, the Blacklight is equipped with a full ABS sidewall. The base also has a special racing finish for even more speed.
