The Wildfire Edge is a flexible technical approach shoe that converts quickly and easily from a hiking shoe to a climbing shoe. The Salewa Switchfit system was developed and extensively tested together with mountain guides and professional climbers from the Dolomites - it's so simple and clever. When you thread the laces through the extra eyelet and tighten, your foot is pulled forward like a climbing shoe. The result: toe-climbing and stepping on friction becomes easier and confidence on technical terrain improves. Switching back to hiking boots is done by simply loosening the laces. This widens the toe cap and offers greater comfort when hiking.
Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort: The thin, extremely breathable Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort membrane is located under the very abrasion-resistant upper material (suede leather and microfiber), which ensures maximum comfort in a wide variety of weather conditions. Your feet stay dry in wet weather, but if you start sweating during high-intensity exercise, the moisture that forms can still escape.
Climbing precision: To improve climbing precision, the Wildfire Edge is also equipped with equipped with an edging plate, an insole plate under the forefoot, which additionally stiffens this area, which is important when climbing.
